Note: Josef Hochban (1861) migrated to Saskatchewan, Canada, from the Banat, Austria-Hungary in the late 1890s with his son Johann (1888) and a cousin Joseph Hochban (1891), called uncle Joe. His son John Hochban (1888), was the relative that Peter Hochban (1879), referred to when he immigrated in 1924. Peter and family claimed their destination as Rouleau, Sask. (near Regina) to work on thier cousin's farm but shortly moved to Winnipeg for other work. This is also part of the Hochban tree that Jesuit
Priest, John Hochban (1914) is an ancestor. We recieved a photo of Fr.
John's ordination 15 Aug 1943.

Hochban, Rita Rita Mary Margaret Hochban (nee Milette) of Regina passed away on the 9th of March, 2009 at the age of 77 years. Rita was born on 23 November 1931 in Regina, Saskatchewan. She married Francis Xavier Hochban on 24 May 1949. Rita was a joy. She was laughter. She was the cutest in the family you just had to ask her. She approached each of life's challenges with gusto and a positive attitude. She loved children; she raised eight children of her own and sponsored eight more from around the world. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Church and did volunteer work to help young mothers and their children. She was deeply reverent and yet had a blushingly irreverent sense of humour. She wants us all to be happy. She and all members of the family greatly appreciated the support and home-like care provided by the staff at Wascana Grace Hospice. |
Rita was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Rose Milette; her sisters, Ester, Ida, Simone, Lorraine; brothers, Joseph, Emile, Leo, Louis, Maurice; and two of her children Mary and Rita, both of whom died in infancy; her daughter-in-law Sophie (Ted); and her dear husband Frank, who passed away 26 May, 1999. They are all together again. She is survived by her sisters, Sister Cecile Milette, Annette Leskun, Louisa (Joe) Gould; her brother Roland (Rosalie); her children Tim (Elke), Tom, Terry, Ted (Belinda), Tammy, Todd (Nancy), Ty and Francis (Rebecca); her fifteen grandchildren Kyla (Serge), Eric, Brett, Tommy, Gina, Laura, Paula, Kyle, Jordan, Matthew, Andrew, Tasha, Annette, Devon, Jenna; and two great-grandchildren Gabrielle and Sophie. |
